Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)
has hired the former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq as a consultant to
help Pakistan batsmen ahead of all important India tour. Inzamam
however will not be traveling with the team.
Inzamam, who remains the last Pakistan captain to won a series in India, had shown his interest to help the batsmen in an interview published on Criclens a fortnight ago. The consultancy move could just be the first step before given duties of batting coach. There are also reports that say Inzamam will travel with Pakistan team during tour of South Africa in February and March.
Pakistan team will play practice 50-over and Twenty20 matches on December 17, 19 and 20 before leaving for India on December 22. The first match of the series, a Twenty20, will be played on December 25 in Bangalore.
